Gather your materials. I tried on a few different brands of canvas sneakers before settling on these beauties from Target. They were pretty inexpensive, so I didn't feel bad about potentially screwing up, and they don't make my feet look enormous. I also used masking table and a white chalk pencil.
Mark out your lines. I was going to leave little dots of the brown peeking through, which you can see I started on the one picture, but because I like things to be kind of simple and frankly, I didn't want to be bothered going around the little dots, I decided to forget that part.
I then taped off the sole so paint wouldn't get on it and stain it, and then I went over everything with acrylic craft paint mixed with fabric medium. I let these guys dry and then wiped off the chalk outlines.
Ta-da! New pretty shoes! I really liked this DIY and I think I might try doing some other types of painted sneakers. I'm pretty thrilled with how they look with my dresses.
See? Totes adorbs. ;-)
