OOTD: Another Old Tee

I keep making these because it's the perfect shirt!!

So what I do, and maybe this would work for you, is I usually find shirts (men's AND women's) that fit well but are just a bit too long. I sew a casing up the side and put drawstrings through, which ruches up the shirt a bit. It makes it feminine (although sometimes accidentally maternity, which is not good) and is barely an alteration. I LOVE this. I will make thousands of these shirts.

Shirt: DIY/Me, Jeans: Target, Shoes: Chucks, Jacket: DIY/Me, Necklace: Gift

I also tried cuffed jeans. I'm still not sure if I'm a fan, but these are purple on the inside which is pretty awesome.

I've been kind of negative lately. It gets hard to see the good things in life when you're surrounded by so much shit hitting the fan, so to speak. But there are good things. And I am aware that I have many of them, in abundance. I just need life to start working for me a little bit better. And I don't know what to do about that.

On the plus side, I am loving this shirt.

until next time - xoxo - Meghan

  1. I love the cuffed jeans - what a fabulous colour!

Hang in there, hon. Focus on the things you can change and don't sweat the stuff you can't.

  2. Love the ruching. And the differently-colored cuffs are cute. Reminds me of stuff we did with our clothes in the Seventies. Youthful experimentation is timeless.

  4. I like the purple cuff on your jeans! And I'm a big fan of ruched shirts right now because of maternity, but I get what you're saying!

Sorry to hear you've had a lot of crap going on lately. I hope it gets better soon!

  7. I love this! I LOVE casing/drawstrings and what they can do. I've never had the slightest clue how to make 'em. Is it difficult?

I'm sorry you're going through rough stuff. We can know logically we're lucky to have things but still get overwhelmed and stressed out when a bunch of stuff blows up or goes wrong or is plain too exhausting. Everyone does. I lost my shit more times this summer than I can count.

If there's anything I can do to help (aside from putting my knuckles to my head and going >.< really hard to send positive thoughts) please let me know.

  9. Great shirt. I have a short torso, am wide-shouldered and busty... this whole long-shirt trend is not my thing. I should give this a go. I like the effect. Sort of a subtle feminine touch.

I hope some more positive things come your way!
